Dance Challenge

Will put this short piece on You Tube entitled Dance Challenge. At Rehua Marae, after an evening of cultural sharing the night before where the young Maori dancers taught Winnemem how to use the poi balls, the young Winnemem men asked the young women to dance the haka. The women danced with the poi ball instead and said they would only do the haka if the men shared a dance. Not to be outdone, the young Winnemem dancers danced with the poi ball their pow wow dances, impressing the crowd. The women joke and walk away -- but return as promised to do the haka.
